An Eight Day Marquetry Longcase Clock by Robert Fenn of London

Case: The marquetry case with finely decorated panels to the door and base depicting birds in foliage, having a circular brass bezel to the bullseye and brass escutcheon to the keyhole, the rise up hood with classical pillars, concave moulding below the hood, gilded capitals and bases, glazed sides and a stepped pediment with an asymmetrically scrolling blind fret to the front with further marquetry surrounding the dial, the whole upon four bun feet.  

Dial: The eleven inch square brass dial with single line border, having applied silvered brass chapter ring with Roman hour numerals, outer minute divisions, inner quarters, Arabic five minutes and fleur de lys half hours, the matted centre with ringed and shuttered winding holes, calendar aperture with engraved border, applied silvered brass seconds chapter with ringed centre, cherubs head spandrels linked by floreate engraving and an engraved rose to the dial centre, having finely cut and chased blued steel hands and signed to the base of the chapter ring, Robert Fenn in ye Strand.  

Movement: The eight day, two train movement with six pillars, having bolt and shutter maintaining power, anchor escapement and brass covered weights, the striking train with external countwheel, sounding the hours on a bell.
