A fine English striking carriage clock by James McCabe.
The twin fusee, key wound, 8 day, chain driven movement having flat rim lever balance with blued steel hairspring. Sounding the hours on a coiled blued steel gong via the rack and snail strike system. The backplate signed and numbered James McCabe London 5260, with matched original numbered key. The silvered dial with roman numerals and finely cut blued steel hands, being signed below VI James McCabe Royal Exchange London and numbered 5260. The gilt gase with glzed sides front and top with solid gilt shuttered back door for winding and strike silent, extremely well presented and contained within its original brass bound travel box with sliding front cover.
